Peter Macdonald Smith has
been painting on the beautiful Isles of Scilly since 1965.
After several years amongst contemporary Cornish painters and artists
in Penwith he returned back to the Islands in 1987 to develop his Studio
at Porthloo on St. Mary's where both figurative and abstract works are
currently displayed.
Painting out of doors with brush and palette knife on beaches, in fields,
upon cliffs or from his dinghy amongst the shallow waters of Scilly, Peter
is renowned for creating warm avocative images that remarkably capture
the presence and moods so characteristic of the Islands.
