My practice as an Artist and Illustrator is broadly based and includes painting, drawing, printmaking and installation. My interests are held together with an inescapable and continual attempt to create a dialogue around the human/animal relationship, against the backdrop of a society, in which the distance between them seems ever increasing. My Father was a butcher and I currently live and work in rural Cornwall where a variety of non human animals, including livestock, pets and wildlife punctuate my days and inspire my work. Issues relating to food, farming, wildlife, pet keeping and the effects that humans have on the environment are always at the for front of my mind and research. Using my work as a vehicle I explore, question and celebrate the relationships between humans, animals and the environment that we share.
